Sip. at the wine bar & restaurant Debuts Seattle’s Most Spectacular New Patio

Sip in the Sunshine in a Unique Cosmopolitan Setting

SEATTLE, Wash.—(May 19, 2010)— Summer is just around the corner, and—for those fortunate enough to live, work and play downtown—so is the city’s hottest new restaurant patio, at Sip. at the wine bar & restaurant.

Sip. Seattle offers an urban oasis in the heart of the business and financial district. With a backdrop of the dramatic Seattle skyline, the architecturally striking Seattle Library across the street and peek-a-boo views of Elliott Bay, Sip.’s patio offers even the most jaded local a fresh perspective on the city’s attractions.

Handsome tables and chairs are surrounded by lush landscaping and grassy lawns. Prefer the buzz and vibe of the indoor scene? For the best of both worlds, expansive sliding glass doors can be opened wide to let the outside in.

What’s more, Sip.’s patio isn’t limited to lunch and dinner service: Happy hour can also be enjoyed outdoors, Monday through Saturday and all day on Sunday. Guests can sip half-priced wines by the glass from the restaurant’s extraordinary wine program or enjoy a special $5 cocktail. Also available are expertly crafted summer coolers, like the Pomegranate Mojito ($12) or the lively Luce del Sol ($10), made with top-shelf liquors, fresh-squeezed juices and flavored, house-made syrups. The happy hour menu isn’t limited to intoxicating beverages. Five special plates are offered all night on Sundays at only $5 each, including:

Sweet Roll Sliders—all-natural, grass-fed mini burgers, pepper mayo, and jack cheese on Hawaiian sweet buns

Chips and Dips—roasted garlic hummus, caponata spread, olive tapenade and warm pita

House Salad—organic baby lettuces, marinated tomatoes, parmigiano and red wine vinaigrette

Potato Frites—crispy fries scented with sage and garlic

Tenderloin Beef Skewers Marinated all natural beef skewers, sesame ginger teriyaki and Asian slaw

“Western exposure is the key to a perfect Seattle afternoon or evening on the patio. All three Sip. locations have outdoor dining with western exposure, so people can take full advantage of the sun in warm weather,” notes Sip. owner Lane Scelzi.

Also featuring outdoor dining in spring and summer months, the Issaquah and Gig Harbor locations offer the same top-shelf bar and craft cocktail menu as Sip. Seattle and happy hour specials seven days a week (all day Sunday). Trellised with twinkling lights, patios at both locations likewise extend their outdoor hours with cozy warmers and have large sliding doors for a welcoming inclusiveness; Sip. Issaquah boasts an outdoor fireplace for an added dose of atmosphere.

The Napa Valley-inspired Sip. at the wine bar & restaurant offers an approachable, global wine selection featuring nearly 70 by-the-glass choices, wine flights, and more than 250 bottles from the Pacific Northwest, California and around the world. The Northwest-driven food menu comforts and inspires, and is sourced locally whenever possible. Locations include 909 5th Ave., Seattle 98101 (206) 682-2779; 1084 NE Park Dr., Issaquah, 98029 (425) 369-1181; and 4793 Point Fosdick Dr. NW, Suite 400, Gig Harbor, 98335 (253) 853-3020.
